Choral Program

The Chamber Singers was established in 2009. This auditioned group of thirty-four singers performs highly advanced music for a variety of concerts and festivals throughout the school year. They have consistently received superior ratings at festivals and competitions throughout the nation.

Over the years, the Chamber Singers have performed in many prestigious venues such as Davies Symphony Hall, Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral, Carnegie Hall, and most recently at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome where they sang for the Feast of the Epiphany mass presided by Pope Francis.

Members of the Chamber Singers have represented Bishop Amat in the Southern California Vocal Association Honor Choirs, California All-State Honor choirs, and the American Choral Director's Association Western Division and National Honor Choirs.

Chamber Singers is a UC Approved Visual and Performing Arts Honors Course.

The Lancer Chorus is made up of the combined Women's and Men's Choirs at Bishop Amat. This ensemble provides an opportunity for students to participate in singing in a supportive, fun, and friendly environment. An emphasis is placed on establishing proper vocal technique, building musicianship skills, and gaining confidence in singing alone and with others. The Lancer Chorus participates in liturgies, performances, festivals, and field trips. One of the highlights of the year is spending the day at Disneyland after competing in the Music in the Parks festival. The Lancer Chorus has consistently received superior ratings at festivals around Southern California.

The Lancer Chorus is a UC approved Visual and Performing Arts course.

We are Bishop Amat’s premiere contemporary vocal ensemble composed of some of our communities most creative and talented performers and musicians. The primary genre of music performed by the Bishop Amat Dynamics is a cappella pop with the freedom to explore other styles.

The Junior Lancer Choir is an outreach program that was established in 2009 that is open to elementary and middle school music students. This group learns the fundamentals of music and singing. They perform at the annual Christmas and Lancer Pops Concerts in collaboration with the high school choral groups. Over the years this program has grown to include students from over twelve different local schools. Students from the Bishop Amat choral program serve as mentors and are an integral part of the success of the program.

We are so excited to offer this FREE program to all students grades 3rd-8th. The JLC program will be run by Ms. Micaela Macaraeg, an Amat alumni and recent graduate of the University of Redlands.
