Supported by a grant from the Brutocao Family Foundation, the existing library was extensively refurbished and equipped as a Modern Internet research center. It was dedicated on March 3, 1995.
The primary purpose of the Brutocao Library and Media Center is to support the philosophy, programs, and educational objectives of Bishop Amat Memorial High School. The library serves as an extension of the classroom, providing support for teachers, and materials and resources to both staff and students.
The Brutocao Library contains books, magazines, and reference materials available for student use. Computers for obtaining research information and word processing and printers are also available. The library is generally open from 7:15 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday and until 3:30 p.m. on Fridays (subject to change).
Students may use the library before school, after school, during break and lunch; for class time use, the teacher must make arrangements in advance with the librarian. Students wishing to use the Internet must have a signed Internet Access Contract on file. Any student wishing to use a library computer must display his/her Bishop Amat High School student identification card. Items can be checked out by presenting a student ID card at the desk.
Students who abuse the library privilege or fail to follow school rules while in the library will be subject to disciplinary actions. Specific behavioral expectations are described in the Discipline section of our school handbook.
