HEARTSAVER FIRST AID, CPR, AED COURSE
Dear Students and Parents,
Are you interested in becoming Certified in First Aid, CPR, AED? Being trained in First Aid and CPR/AED can be invaluable when someone is in serious medical distress. We offer the American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, AED course on campus. This course is open to all participants, and does not require any prior medical knowledge or healthcare background. Whether you are in the boy/girl scouts, a babysitter, teacher, or coach, anyone can learn CPR/AED and become trained in First Aid. This course also provides comprehensive safety training for the workplace. Participation in this course will teach you important skills necessary to help others.
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. In this course, students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, shock and other first aid emergencies. Each course will include training in adult/child/infant CPR, First Aid, and appropriate use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), making this the ideal course for virtually anyone who may deal with others in an emergency situation at home, school, work, or while traveling.
The is the required text for this course. The student workbook includes information on first aid basics; medical emergencies; injury emergencies; environmental emergencies; choking; adult CPR/AED; child CPR/AED and infant CPR. It is a great resource to have.
The course fee $60. Upon successful completion of the course, including a First Aid, CPR and AED skills test, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED certification card, valid for 2 years.
