Welcome

President's Message

Dear Lancers,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! With each new academic year comes renewed energy and a deepened sense of gratitude for the remarkable community we share. Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time—especially the Class of 2029 and our newest transfer students—we are thrilled to welcome you into the Bishop Amat Family.
At Bishop Amat, our mission remains rooted in the Catholic faith tradition that has guided us for almost seven decades. We celebrate our partnership with parents to nurture students into young men and women of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge—values that reflect our call to live in the image of Christ. Our faith is more than a tradition; it is the foundation of everything we do, shaping both the academic and spiritual formation of every student.
For current families, we encourage you to review the policies, expectations, and opportunities outlined in Lancer Life, our guide to daily life at Bishop Amat. By upholding these shared standards, we create a learning environment where all students can grow and thrive.
To our prospective families: we invite you to discover what makes Bishop Amat a place of faith, learning, and community. From our rigorous academic programs and championship-level athletics to our vibrant arts and campus ministry programs, Bishop Amat offers students the opportunity to grow into leaders grounded in purpose and guided by values. If you're considering a Catholic high school education, we welcome you to visit our campus and experience firsthand what it means to be a Lancer.
To the parents and guardians who make this journey possible—thank you! Your support, sacrifice, and belief in the power of Catholic education allow us to fulfill our mission each and every day. We are deeply grateful for your trust and partnership.
As we begin this new school year, may the Holy Spirit continue to guide us and inspire all that we do. Together, let us move forward in the proud tradition of excellence that defines the Bishop Amat High School experience.
God bless,

Principal's Message

Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 academic year at Bishop Amat Memorial High School! As we embark on this new journey, we are thrilled to see our returning students and to greet the Class of 2029 and all new transfer students. Our mission remains steadfast: to deliver an exceptional Catholic education that fosters growth, learning, and spiritual development within a secure and intellectually enriching environment.
Please be sure to check out this year’s edition of "Lancer Life." This document, which is also available digitally on our website, is a crucial guide for both students and parents, revised yearly to reflect our current practices and expectations at Bishop Amat. Inside, you'll find comprehensive details about our Christian Service initiatives, academic offerings, athletic teams, and extracurricular activities. This handbook also includes important information on our dress code, grooming standards, behavior, attendance policies, and various school procedures. We encourage you to become well-acquainted with this resource and to refer to it throughout the school year whenever you have questions or need guidance.
This year will continue to feature two powerful initiatives that we are very excited to support. The first is the distribution of school-managed Chromebooks to all students. Transitioning to school-managed devices will allow teachers to better implement our curriculum and ensure student participation during class. It will also increase student safety online and enhance the health of our Wi-Fi infrastructure. The second initiative is our new Dual Enrollment Program with our partner, Mt. SAC. Over the past year, close to 100 Lancers have earned college credits, free of charge, by taking advantage of the offerings. We will continue this program throughout the 2025-2026 school year, starting with Marine Biology in the fall and California History in the winter, in hopes that more families will recognize the value of earning college credits prior to high school graduation.
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. Your support and collaboration are essential in making this year a success for our students. Let us work together to create a vibrant and nurturing community that upholds the values and traditions of Bishop Amat Memorial High School. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and spiritual growth of your children.
God Bless,
Gabriel Escovar
Principal
