Last day of SUMMER SCHOOL 

The last day of Summer School is Tuesday, July 21. Students are expected to be present on this final day of classes.  Please note the adjusted SPECIAL SCHEDULE for that day:

• Period 1:  8:30 am - 10:00 am
• Period 2:  10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Please be sure to make arrangements for drop off or pick up, as needed.

Students who miss the final exam will receive an “Incomplete” for the course and will need to make arrangements with the teacher to make up the final exam in August when classes resume.  Unfortunately, final exams cannot be given ahead of time.  

Parents are strongly encouraged to keep track of their student’s progress via the Parent Portal.  If you have not received your login information for the Parent Portal, please contact Mrs. Leon, our school Registrar, at extension 7449.

Report cards for Summer School will be mailed and available online by Wednesday, July 22.

Early College Academy

As part of our Early College Academy, we are pleased to continue offering students the opportunity to take a free college level Dual Enrollment course through our partnership with Mt. SAC. 

This fall, students may enroll in Contemporary Health Issues (BIOL 5), a 3-unit, CSU- and UC-transferable course that explores topics affecting health and wellness, including nutrition, fitness, stress management, substance use and abuse, environmental quality, and illness and injury prevention. 

Classes will be held on the Bishop Amat campus (Room 602) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:25–5:00 p.m., August 24 through December 13. Students can earn college credit while still in high school, explore future majors and careers, gain exposure to college expectations, strengthen their academic transcripts, and access Mt. SAC resources and textbook rentals. 

Students interested in participating should complete this interest form as soon as possible to help us plan for enrollment. Submitting the form is not an application or commitment to enroll. All enrollment deadlines and requirements are established by Mt. SAC.

facts account reminders

Families who have not set up a payment plan who applied for financial aid will need to pay full tuition in July.  If a payment plan has not been set up by July 8, the family will lose one month's financial aid; if not set up by the end of July, all financial aid will be lost.  As conveyed multiple times by phone and email, we are unable to apply financial aid awards to accounts that have not been updated.  We will not be posting financial aid awards again until school starts. 

It is extremely important that, should you not be able to have an automatic withdrawal clear your funding source, you contact Mrs. Gomez in the Finance Office at least 72 hours (3 days) before the withdrawal is to take place.  We cannot make changes to payment dates inside the 72 hour window.  Once a payment has been returned, FACTS charges your account $25. In addition, you will be charged a Bishop Amat late fee of $30.

Tuition and fees

All tuition and fees have been posted to your FACTS account. Please take the time to review your FACTS account to verify accuracy. 

Parents who wish to lower their monthly payment can do so by paying the mandatory Parent Pledge contribution of $440 in one lump sum.  This will lower your monthly payment by $40 a month.

In order to be eligible to pick up a student’s schedule of classes for the 2026-2027 school year, families who have an outstanding balance from the 2025-26 school year and the July 2026 tuition (FACTS) charges must be paid.  Schedules will be available beginning July 29.
 

Financial AiD

The school has exhausted all of its budgeted financial aid and is not in a position to provide any additional funding until after school starts (August 17).  The amount of financial aid available will depend on the finalization of the school’s operating budget.  

As of this newsletter, we have processed close to 650 applications for financial assistance and have given out approximately $1,400,000 in Bishop Amat financial aid.  CEF has also awarded another $841,000 to our families.  The need for financial aid far exceeds the resources the school has for this purpose.  Please participate in all of our fundraising efforts that help in this area of greatest need. 

SCHOOL ISSUED CHROMEBOOKS

All students NEW to Bishop Amat High School will be issued a school-managed Chromebook and a charger upon school starting in August. Incoming ninth graders and transfer students currently attending summer school have been issued their Chromebook during the summer session.  Parents of ninth grade and transfer students will be billed in September for the Chromebook and required insurance.

Returning Amat students should have maintained their school-managed Chromebook over the summer to use when classes begin in August .  All students are required to bring the charged device to school daily. Only school-issued Chromebooks will be used in classrooms for academic purposes.

Please note:

• Students need to create a routine ensuring that they charge their device overnight and bring it to school daily.
• Students are solely responsible for the care and safekeeping of their Chromebook.
• Students should never leave their Chromebook unattended. Lost or damaged devices are subject to the rules stipulated in the Chromebook Agreement, located in the Enrollment Portal (available July 20).
• Students will retain possession of the device upon graduating from Bishop Amat.

Uniforms & Dress Code

All parents are kindly asked to ensure that their student has all required uniform items before the start of the school year.  This includes the required formal Mass attire items.  Special attention should be paid to the specific guidelines with regard to lengths and style of approved apparel.

Our uniform provider, Paradise School Apparel, is a local company located at 16025 Gale Avenue in the City of Industry.  Parents are welcomed to visit the store, at their convenience.  Additionally, Paradise will be present on campus on Saturday, August 1 from 8 to 11 am in the lobby of the Student Activity Center (gym).

Before making your purchases, here are some important things to note:

• The only items that are required to be purchased from Paradise are uniform skirts, uniform skorts and school sweaters.
• Uniform shorts, pants and shirts may be purchased through our uniform provider or any store
• Uniform pants should have rear interior pockets (like a dress pant) and not exterior pockets (like jeans).  Dockers are preferred.  Jean/denim material or pants with reinforced knees are NOT allowed.  
• (Girls Only) Uniform shorts should be longer Bermuda style shorts that are no shorter than 3 inches above the knee
• (Boys Only) Uniform shorts should not be below the knee and should not be cargo-style
• Uniform shorts, skirts, skorts and pants must be khaki, navy or gray only.
• Uniform shorts, skirts and skorts may not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
• Uniform shorts and pants must fit the student, not too tight or too baggy, and may never sag.  
• If opting to have a uniform skirt, the skirt MUST BE NEW with our school logo at the hem.  Freshmen may not wear a used skirt without the Amat logo.  No exceptions!
• Any returning student purchasing a new uniform skirt must have the school logo.
• All female students must have a pair of uniform shorts or uniform pants which are required for liturgical and formal assemblies.
• All 9th and 10th female students must have a uniform khaki skort (with school logo) or khaki pants and a white oxford which are required for Mass.  Uniform sweaters in navy only, may also be worn at Mass.
• All 11th and 12th female students must have a uniform khaki skirt or khaki pants and white oxford which are required for Mass. Uniform sweaters in navy only, may also be worn at Mass.
• All male students must have uniform khaki pants, a white oxford shirt and a tie which are required for Mass.  Uniform sweaters in navy only, may also be worn at Mass.
