The Lance Newspaper and the Tusitala Yearbook are student publications. They are important elements of our instructional program and contribute to our school goals. The Principal is the publisher and has legal responsibility for all student publications and the school website. Copyright laws must be observed. The moderators of student publication groups exercise whatever control is needed regarding material submitted for publication. The Moderators review all material to make sure appropriate guidelines are followed. (Admin. VII-3, “Student Publications”)

Publication groups exist as functions of academic courses. Membership is limited and students are admitted to the yearbook and journalism courses through moderator approval based on their evaluation of submitted writings.
